Creatures of the Pacific Ocean

The Pacific Ocean is the biggest ocean in the world. It is very deep and full of life. Many amazing animals make their homes in this blue water.
Sea turtles swim in warm parts of the ocean. These gentle animals have hard shells on their backs. A shell keeps a sea turtle safe from danger. Some sea turtles can grow very large! They like to eat jellyfish, crabs, and green seaweed. Sadly, trash in the water can make turtles sick. People are trying hard to protect them.
Dolphins also live in the ocean. A dolphin is not a fish. It is a mammal, which means it breathes air. Dolphins are smart and love to play. They swim fast and jump high into the air! Dolphins live with their families in groups called pods. They talk to each other by making clicks and whistles.
Many kinds of fish swim in the ocean, too. Some fish are tiny and bright. Orange clownfish hide inside soft sea plants to stay safe. Other fish are big and strong. Salmon are fish that can swim a long way to lay eggs in fresh rivers.
The Pacific Ocean is full of wonderful animals. When we keep the water clean, we help these ocean friends stay safe and healthy.
