Have you ever eaten a crisp, red apple?
Every bite is sweet and crunchy.
Where did that apple come from before it got to your plate?
It made a long trip from a farm to your table.
First, farmers plant tiny seeds in the rich soil.
They make sure the plants get plenty of sunshine and water.
Over time, the small plants grow tall and strong.
Bright fruits and green vegetables begin to grow.
Next, it is time to pick the food.
Farmers gather the ripe apples and fresh carrots from the fields.
Then, workers pack the food into large wooden boxes.
Big trucks carry the boxes down the road to the grocery store.
At the store, workers place the food on clean shelves.
Families walk down the aisles and choose what to buy.
Finally, the food goes home in a grocery bag.
You wash the fresh food and place it on your kitchen table.
Now it is time to eat your healthy snack!
Farm food gives your body good energy to run and play.
