Pirate Pete and the Rainy Day
Once upon a time, there was a little pirate named Pete. Pete loved being a pirate, but he had a secret. He was afraid of the water! All the other pirates loved to swim and play in the sea, but Pete stayed on the ship. He was worried the water was too cold or too deep.
One day, a big storm came. The wind howled, and the rain poured down. The ship rocked back and forth. Pete held on tight, but then, splash! He fell into the sea!
Pete closed his eyes tight. He thought he would sink. But then, he felt something funny. He was floating! The water held him up. He opened his eyes and looked around. The rain was still falling, but the water didn't seem so scary anymore. He laughed and splashed around. It was fun!
When the storm was over, the other pirates helped Pete back onto the ship. "You were in the water!" they said. "And you weren't scared!" Pete smiled. He wasn't scared because he found out the water could be fun. From that day on, Pete wasn't afraid of the sea anymore. He learned that sometimes, the things we fear are not so bad after all.
