Sam and Ben are best friends. They like to play in the park.
The park has green grass. The sun is bright and warm.
"Look at this spot," says Ben. He points to a big tree.
"We can build here," says Sam. He has a big red bucket.
Ben has a small blue shovel. They want to make a big fort.
First, they find many sticks. The sticks are on the ground.
Sam picks up a long stick. Ben picks up a short stick.
They lean the sticks on the tree. They work hard together.
"We need more help," says Sam. "I can find more," says Ben.
Ben finds a big yellow cloth. He brings it to the tree.
They put the cloth on top. Now the fort has a roof.
It is a very cool fort. The friends are very happy.
"Let us go inside," says Sam. They crawl into the fort.
It is dark and quiet inside. They sit on the soft grass.
Ben shares his snack with Sam. Sam shares his water with Ben.
"You are a good friend," says Sam. "You are a good friend too," says Ben.
They stay in the fort all day. They play with their toy cars.
The cars go fast in the dirt. Vroom, vroom, they go!
The wind begins to blow. The leaves start to dance.
But the fort is strong. The sticks do not fall down.
The cloth stays on the top. Sam and Ben feel safe.
Soon the sun starts to go down. The sky turns pink and orange.
"It is time to go home," says Ben. "We can play here tomorrow," says Sam.
They clean up their toys. They put the cars in the bucket.
They walk home side by side. They are happy they are friends.
