The Lucky Eye of Egypt

Long ago, people in Egypt lived by a big river. They believed in magic.

They wore special charms called amulets. One famous charm was the Eye of Horus.

Horus was a sky god. He looked like a strong hawk.

His special eye was a symbol of safety. People wore it to stay healthy and strong.

Now you can make your own eye amulet! Grab some paper and a black crayon.

First, draw a long, curved line like a hill. This is the top of the eye.

Next, draw a curve under it. Make it look like a football.

Then, draw a big circle inside. This is the pupil of the eye.

Now, add a special ancient Egyptian line. Draw a straight line pointing down from the bottom.

Next to that, draw a line that curls like a tail. This represents the eye of a hawk.

Color the eye with bright blue and gold. These were lucky colors in Egypt.

Now you have a protective Eye of Horus! Keep it to bring you good luck.
