How do creation credits work?

A creation credit is used whenever you generate a completely new passage from a topic. Free users get 1 per month, plus a one-time 3-credit bonus when you sign up. Credits reset at the start of every calendar month.

*Note: For our launch period, using the Remix feature to change the grade level or language of an existing passage does NOT use a creation credit!

Practice and downloads have their own weekly limits on the free plan: 2 practice sessions (reading, grammar, vocabulary or coloring) and 3 PDF downloads. Playing word games online, the coloring image itself, and the free quiz of the month never cost anything. From Basic up, both limits disappear.

How do child profiles work?

A child profile is one child’s own space: their level, their interests, the shelf of things you put ready, and their results, all in one place. You give them their own login — a private link, a QR code, or a 6-digit code — and they sign in at picobuddy.com/kids with no email and no password. Everything they finish lands on their profile.

Families

Every plan, free included, comes with one child. On Basic and Pro you add up to 5 for $9.99 a month each.

Max plan

Comes with 3 children included and grows to 40, with groups and login cards for a whole class at once.

You decide per child whether Pico’s AI help is switched on — it is off until you turn it on.

Can I change plans later?

Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade anytime from your Account page. Upgrades take effect right away so you can keep going, while downgrades apply at the end of your current billing period.

What happens if I reach my PDF or Quiz limit?

On the Free plan, limits reset every Monday (UTC). If you reach your 3 weekly PDFs or 2 weekly quizzes, you can wait until the following Monday or upgrade to a paid plan for unlimited access instantly.

Do you offer discounts for developing countries?

Yes! We believe quality reading materials should be accessible to everyone, regardless of where they live. We offer adjusted pricing based on local Purchasing Power Parity (PPP).
