How to Make Maple Syrup

First, find a big maple tree in the spring. Make a small hole in the side of the tree.
Next, put a small pipe into the hole. This pipe is called a tap.
Hang a bucket on the tap. Watery sap will drip slowly into the bucket.
The sap looks like water but tastes sweet. Take the full buckets to the sugar shack.
Pour the sap into a very large pan. Boil the sap over a hot wood fire.
The water goes away as steam. The sap gets thick and turns gold.
Now the sweet maple syrup is ready. Pour it on hot pancakes and eat!
