How to Make Num Ansom Chek

Cambodian New Year is a happy time. People make a sweet treat called Num Ansom Chek.
It is a sweet rice cake. It has a banana inside. Let us make some!
First, get your food ready. You need sticky rice and sweet bananas.
You also need green banana leaves. You will need some string too.
Next, wash the sticky rice. Peel the yellow bananas.
Wipe the banana leaves with a clean cloth. Cut the leaves into big squares.
Now, put one leaf flat on the table. Put a scoop of rice on the leaf.
Place one banana in the middle of the rice. Cover the banana with a little more rice.
Fold the leaf over the rice. Roll it up tight like a little sleeping bag.
Fold the ends of the leaf down. Tie the roll tight with your string.
Last, put the rolls in a big pot of water. Boil them on the stove for a long time.
The rice will get very soft and sweet. Let the rolls cool down.
