Art Made of Shapes

Have you ever seen a painting made of shapes? Some paintings look like a puzzle.

This style of art is called Cubism. Art is made using flat shapes.

Artists use cubes, triangles, and circles. They put them together to make a picture.

Most art shows things from one side. But Cubism is different.

It shows things from many sides at once. You might see the front of a face.

You might see the side of the nose at the same time. It looks very silly and fun.

A famous artist named Pablo Picasso helped start this art. He loved to play with shapes and colors.

He wanted people to look at art in a new way. Now you can try to make Cubism art too.

Just draw your favorite animal using only shapes! Use bright colors to fill them in.
