Buddy the Happy Labrador

Buddy is a big yellow dog. He is a friendly Labrador.

He has soft ears and a long tail. His fur is the color of sand.

Buddy lives in a house with a red door. He lives with his best friend, Sam.

Every morning, Buddy wakes up early. He licks Sam on the nose to say hello.

Sam laughs and pats Buddy’s head. It is time for a fun day.

Buddy loves to play outside in the yard. He sniffs the flowers and the green grass.

He finds his favorite toy under a bush. It is a squeaky yellow duck.

Buddy carries the duck in his mouth. He is very proud of his toy.

"Do you want to go to the park?" Sam asks. Buddy wags his tail so hard his whole body moves.

Sam puts on Buddy’s blue leash. They walk down the sidewalk together.

At the park, the grass is very soft. Many other dogs are there to play.

Buddy sees a big black dog named Max. Max is also a Labrador dog.

The two dogs sniff each other’s noses. They are happy to meet a new friend.

Sam throws a bright orange ball. Buddy runs as fast as he can.

His big paws thud on the ground. He catches the ball on the first bounce.

He runs back to Sam with the ball. "Good boy, Buddy!" Sam says.

Next, they walk to the big pond. The water looks blue and very cool.

Buddy loves to swim in the water. Labradors are very good at swimming.

He jumps into the pond with a splash. He paddles his paws to stay afloat.

He shakes his fur when he gets out. Water flies everywhere and Sam gets wet.

Sam laughs and dries Buddy with a towel. It is almost time to go home now.

They walk back to the red door. Buddy’s legs feel a little bit heavy.

He is a very tired Labrador. He drinks some water from his bowl.

Sam gives him a yummy dog treat. Buddy crunches it up very fast.

He finds his soft rug by the bed. He curls up into a big yellow ball.

He closes his eyes and starts to dream. He dreams about balls and big splashes.

Buddy is a very happy dog today. He is the best friend a boy could have.
