Mia has a new puppy. His name is Barnaby.
Barnaby is very small and soft. He has big brown ears and a tiny tail.
He likes to run in the tall green grass. He likes to jump for his bouncy red ball.
Barnaby is a very busy puppy. He plays with his toys all morning long.
The sun is high and warm in the sky. Barnaby is starting to move very slowly.
He lets out a very big, wide yawn. His little pink tongue sticks out for a second.
Barnaby looks for a good place to rest. He tries the hard, white kitchen floor.
It is too cold and flat for a nap. He walks over to the big, soft rug.
He circles around and around in a ring. Then he flops down with a happy sigh.
He rests his chin on his fuzzy paws. His big eyes begin to close.
Mia sits very quietly on the floor. She does not want to wake him up.
She watches his little black nose twitch. Barnaby is fast asleep in the sun.
