Riding a bike is very fun. But you must stay safe.
You can check your bike. It is easy to do.
Just remember three letters. They are A, B, and C.
"A" is for Air. Look at your two tires.
Give them a big squeeze. Are they hard like an apple?
If they are soft, they need air. Ask a grown-up to help you pump them.
"B" is for Brakes. Brakes help you stop.
Squeeze the levers on your handlebars. Try to push your bike forward.
The wheels should not roll. Your brakes are working!
"C" is for Chain. The chain makes your bike go.
Look closely at the metal chain. It should look clean and bright.
It should not have sticky black mud. It must move smoothly when you pedal.
Now you are almost done. Do not forget your helmet.
Put it on your head. Snap the strap under your chin.
Your bike is safe now. You are ready to ride!
