Today is a beach day! He is very happy.

He puts on his blue hat. He gets his round red ball.

Sam and Dad drive to the sea. The sand is warm and yellow.

The water is blue and very big. They find a good spot.

Sam puts his towel down. Dad opens a big green umbrella.

They walk to the water. The waves are small and soft.

Splash! The water hits Sam’s legs.

He laughs and jumps. The water is cold and fresh.

Sam likes to feel the water on his toes.

Next, they dig in the sand. Sam uses a yellow spade.

He makes a large sand house. It has four big towers.

Dad finds a flat stone for the door. It looks great.

The sand is wet and heavy. It is fun to build.

A small crab walks by. It moves side to side.

Sam watches the crab go. The crab hides in a small hole.

The beach is a busy place. Many things live here.

Sam sees a silver fish jump in the waves.

Sam finds a shiny shell. The shell is white and smooth.

He holds it to his ear. He can hear the sea!

He keeps the shell in his pocket. It is a gift from the beach.

The shell feels cool in his hand.

They sit on the soft mat. Dad has a big lunch box.

They eat sweet apples and bread. The juice is very cold.

A white bird looks at Sam. Sam gives the bird a small crumb.

The bird flies away into the sky.

The sun starts to go down. The sky turns orange and pink.

It is time to go home. Sam picks up his toys.

He is tired but he is glad. It was the best beach day.
