Sam stands on the smooth court. He holds a bright orange basketball in his hands. The sun shines warm on the local park. His best friend Leo joins him near the net. They are ready to play a fun game. Sam smiles at Leo and feels happy. Leo smiles back at Sam. They love to play this sport every single day after school.

Sam dribbles the ball with his strong right hand. The ball goes up and down on the hard ground. It makes a loud thump sound on the flat concrete. Leo stays very close to Sam. He tries to block the ball with his long arms. Sam moves fast to the left side. He moves fast to the right side. He keeps the ball away from Leo very carefully.

Sam stops near the tall hoop. He looks at the bright red rim and the white net. He bends his knees and jumps high into the air. He throws the basketball with a soft touch. The ball spins and hits the square on the backboard. It falls through the net with a swish sound. Sam cheers and claps his hands for joy. Leo gives a high-five to his good friend.

The boys learn many things when they play together. They learn how to pass the ball to a teammate. Sam passes the ball to Leo across the court. Leo catches it with both hands. He takes a long shot from far away. The ball misses the hoop, but Sam grabs the ball. They help each other get better every time. They are a very good team.

Now it is Leo's turn to have the orange ball. He dribbles quickly to the other side of the court. The two boys run and jump under the big blue sky. They work very hard and have a lot of fun together. Basketball is a great sport for everyone. They want to play until the big yellow sun goes down. It is a perfect day for a game.
