A Big Surprise for Dad

Sam woke up early on Sunday morning.

The sun was bright and warm in his room.

He looked at the calendar on the wall.

Today was a very special day.

It was Father’s Day!

Sam wanted to make a big surprise for his dad.

He hopped out of bed and ran to the kitchen.

His feet made a soft sound on the floor.

Mom was already in the kitchen.

She was making coffee and toast.

The kitchen smelled like fresh bread.

"Can I help make breakfast?" Sam asked.

Mom smiled and gave him a big white plate.

"Yes, you can help," Mom said.

They put yellow eggs and red fruit on the plate.

The food looked very yummy and colorful.

Next, Sam went to the small table.

He got his blue paper and his red paint.

He used a brush to make a big heart.

He wrote his name in big, clear letters.

"I love you, Dad," the card said.

Sam was very proud of his hard work.

He let the paint dry in the sun.

Now the surprise was ready.

Mom helped Sam carry the heavy tray.

They walked slowly to Dad's big bedroom.

They tried not to make any noise.

Dad was still fast asleep in his bed.

The room was very dark and quiet.

"Happy Father's Day!" Sam shouted loudly.

Dad opened his eyes and looked around.

He was very surprised to see Sam.

He saw the yummy food and the bright card.

Dad had a very big smile on his face.

"Is all of this for me?" Dad asked.

Sam nodded his head with joy.

"Thank you so much, Sam," Dad said.

He sat up and took the red card.

Then he gave Sam a giant, warm hug.

The card made him feel very happy.

They sat on the bed and talked.

They ate the fruit and the eggs together.

It was the best Father’s Day ever.

Everyone was happy and full of love.
