Artificial Intelligence, or AI, used to be something people only saw in science fiction movies. Today, it is a big part of our real lives. AI is the technology behind the apps that suggest your next favorite song. It is also used by doctors to help find and treat illnesses. While AI makes life easier in many ways, it also brings some challenges for people and the environment.
How AI Affects Our Society
AI is changing how we work and interact with others. One of the biggest changes is in the workforce. Using "automation," computers can now do tasks that humans used to do, like entering data or writing simple reports. This can make businesses faster, but it also makes people worry about losing their jobs. Schools and workers must now learn new skills to keep up with these changes.
Another challenge is "algorithmic bias." AI learns from information created by humans. If that information has unfair prejudices, the AI might learn them too. This can lead to unfair decisions in things like hiring new employees or even how laws are followed. Additionally, AI needs a lot of personal data to work. This has started many debates about privacy and how much companies should know about us.
