An Invitation to Share Our Favorite Books

October 12, 2024
Dear Room 104,
Our class wants to invite you to a special Book Share Party! Our teacher, Mrs. Clark, talked with your teacher, Mr. Green. Both teachers approved our plan, and we are very excited to host your class in Room 102.
The party will take place this Friday at 1:30 in the afternoon. It will last for thirty minutes. We planned this event because our class loves picture books, and we want to learn about the stories you love too.
Here is how you can get ready for the visit:
First, choose one favorite picture book to bring with you. You can pick a book from your classroom bookshelf or borrow one from the school library.
Next, place a small sticky note on your favorite page.
Then, think about one reason why you like that page. Is the drawing funny? Does the story have a surprising twist?
When you arrive, we will sit together in pairs on our large blue reading rug. You will share your book with a partner for five minutes, and then your partner will share a book with you. You can read a few sentences out loud or just point out the pictures. We will also have paper bookmarks ready on our craft table for everyone to decorate and take home.
