Barnaby's Busy Day

A Bee's Diary

Day 1

Today was a good day to fly! The sun was warm, and the sky was big and blue. I woke up in my cozy hive. It was full of my bee friends. We all said, "Buzz buzz!" That means, "Good morning!" I ate some yummy honey for breakfast. Then, I got ready for work.

My job is to find flowers. I fly around and look for the best ones. I like yellow flowers the most. They have the sweetest nectar. Nectar is like juice for bees. I drink the nectar and then fly back to the hive. I give the nectar to my friends. They make honey from it.

I saw a little girl in the garden today. She smiled at me! I wasn't scared because I know she likes bees. She likes to watch us fly around. I flew around her head and then went back to the flowers.

It was a long day of flying and finding flowers. When the sun went down, I went back to the hive. I said, "Buzz buzz!" to my friends. That means, "Good night!" Then, I went to sleep. I can't wait for another busy day tomorrow.

Day 2

Oh no! It is raining today, and I cannot go outside! I helped my friends clean the hive. Even though I like the sun better, it is nice to spend time with my friends. After the rain I hope I can find more flowers.
