Some beaches are rocky instead of sandy. These beaches are fun to explore. You can find cool rocks and shells. You might even see sea creatures in tide pools.
Rocky beaches are often found in Maine and Oregon.

Shell beaches are covered in tiny shells! These beaches are pretty and unique. The shells make interesting patterns and colors.
Shell Beach in Western Australia is one of the most famous shell beaches.
