Beautiful Pictured Rocks
Pictured Rocks is a special place in Michigan. It sits right next to a big lake called Lake Superior.
This place is famous for its huge colorful rocks. The giant walls of rock stand high above the clear blue water.
Why do the rocks have so many colors? Water dripping down the rocks leaves tiny bits of minerals behind.
Iron makes parts of the rock look red and orange. Copper turns other parts into bright green and blue lines.
Wind and waves crash into the rocks every day. The moving water carves out deep caves and cool arches.
You can ride on a boat to see the pretty cliffs. It is a wonderful place to explore nature!
