The sun was shining through the big windows. Today was the very last day of school.

Ms. Leonard stood by the door with a smile. Ms. R sat at her desk and waved to the class.

They looked at the seven students. There were six boys and one girl in the room.

Everyone had a special job to do today. It was time to clean the whole room.

The six boys picked up the colorful blocks. They put the crayons in the blue bin.

The girl gathered all the story books. She put them neatly on the tall shelf.

"Good job, team," said Ms. Leonard. Ms. R clapped her hands with a big smile.

Next, they had to move the desks. The desks were heavy, so they worked together.

They pushed the desks to the long wall. Now there was lots of space to play and dance.

The class sat in a big circle on the rug. The girl looked at her six friends.

"I will miss our class," she said quietly. One of the boys nodded his head.

"I will miss our fun games," he said. The room felt a little bit quiet for a moment.

Ms. Leonard walked to the center of the rug. "Do not be sad today," she told them.

Ms. R stood up and joined the circle. "We have a special thing to say," Ms. R said.

"We do not say goodbye forever," said Ms. Leonard. "We say 'bye for now' instead!"

The students all smiled at each other. They knew they would meet again very soon.

"Bye for now!" the girl shouted happily. "We will see you next year!" the six boys yelled.

They gave each other high-fives and big waves. It was the best last day of school ever.
