Charlotte sat in the back of the car. Her family was driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was autumn, and the air was cool and crisp.

Charlotte looked out the window. The mountains looked like they were wearing a bright blanket. She saw red, yellow, and orange leaves on every tree.

"Look at that mountain!" Charlotte said with a smile.

Her dad stopped the car at a safe spot. They got out to look at the view. The soft wind blew through the trees. Leaves danced down from the sky like colorful paper.

Charlotte walked along a little path. She picked up a smooth yellow leaf from the ground. Then she found a giant red leaf. It was as big as her hand!

"This is my special leaf," Charlotte whispered.

She held her leaf high in the air. The Blue Ridge Parkway was full of fall magic. Charlotte could not wait to take her bright leaf home.
