Are you tired of judging a book solely by its glossy cover art or familiar author name? Do you love unraveling tangled clues, deciphering hidden motives, and solving impossible puzzles before the final chapter? If so, dust off your detective hat and join your fellow seventh graders for the inaugural Room 208 Mystery Book Exchange, happening during all English periods next Friday!

What Is the Mystery Exchange?

The Mystery Book Exchange is a no-cost, classroom-only event designed to help you discover a thrilling new read while sharing your own personal favorites with your peers. Instead of browsing traditional library shelves where shiny covers do all the talking, every book in this swap will be completely disguised. You will select a great mystery, suspense, or adventure novel that you already own or borrow from our school media center, wrap it up like an unsolved case file, and pitch the story using only a few cryptic hints written on the outside.

No money is required, no brand-new purchases are permitted, and you do not need to part with your personal copy forever. Every participant simply swaps a wrapped title for another mystery package, reads the book over the next two weeks, and returns the borrowed volume in pristine condition.
