Crispy the Cloud's Big Dream

Crispy was a little cloud. He was soft and fluffy, like cotton candy. He floated in the sky all day. Most clouds liked to rain or snow. But not Crispy!

Crispy wanted to be something more exciting. He looked down at the fireworks bursting in the sky. "Oh!" he sighed. "I want to sparkle and pop! I want to light up the sky!"

He watched the fireworks carefully. They shot up high and then BOOM! Colors everywhere! Crispy wished he could do that. He tried to sparkle, but he only made mist. He tried to pop, but he only made a soft poof.

One night, a little star saw Crispy trying to pop. The star zipped over. "What are you doing, little cloud?" she asked.

"I want to be a firework," Crispy said sadly. "But I can't sparkle or pop very well."

The star smiled. "You don't need to be a firework, Crispy. You are a cloud! You give us rain to drink and snow to play in. That is special too!"

Crispy thought about this. He did like making gentle rain for the flowers. He liked making soft snow for the children to play in.

Maybe, Crispy thought, being a cloud wasn't so bad after all. He smiled. He might not sparkle like a firework, but he could make the world a little brighter in his own way.
