Discovering the San Juan Islands

Have you ever imagined living on an island surrounded by sparkling blue water? The San Juan Islands, located off the coast of Washington State, offer a real-life adventure! These islands are famous for their beautiful scenery and amazing wildlife.

Island Life

Living on an island is different than living in a big city. Instead of busy streets, you might find quiet trails. Instead of tall buildings, you will see tall trees. People who live on the San Juan Islands often enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, and exploring the beaches. The islands have small, friendly communities where everyone knows each other.

A Home for Wildlife

The San Juan Islands are also a special place for animals. Bald eagles soar overhead, and deer roam through the forests. But the most exciting animals live in the water! Seals and sea lions bask on the rocks, and colorful sea stars cling to the ocean floor. If you are lucky, you might even see a pod of orcas, also known as killer whales!
