Important Information About Our Science Museum Trip
Dear Parents,
I am writing to provide you with important details about our upcoming field trip to the City Science Museum. This trip is an exciting opportunity for our students to engage with science in a hands-on and interactive environment. Please read the following information carefully.
Date and Time
The field trip is scheduled for Thursday, October 26th. We will depart from the school promptly at 9:00 AM and expect to return around 3:00 PM. Please ensure your child arrives at school no later than 8:45 AM to allow for check-in and boarding the bus.
Transportation
Students will be transported to and from the museum by school bus. The bus will be equipped with seatbelts, and students are required to remain seated and wear their seatbelts at all times while the bus is in motion. Supervision will be provided by teachers and parent volunteers.
Chaperones
We are grateful to the parents who have volunteered to chaperone this trip. Chaperones will assist with supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of our students. Chaperones are asked to meet briefly with me in the school cafeteria at 8:30 AM on the day of the trip for a quick orientation.
Lunch and Snacks
Students should bring a packed lunch and a snack for the day. Please ensure that the lunch is nutritious and does not contain any nut products, as we have students with severe allergies. Water bottles are also recommended to keep students hydrated throughout the day. No glass bottles are allowed.
Dress Code
Students should wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for walking. Layers are recommended as the museum temperature may fluctuate. School uniform is not required for the field trip.
Museum Activities
The museum visit will include guided tours of the exhibit halls, interactive demonstrations, and hands-on activities in the science lab. Students will have the opportunity to explore various scientific concepts, including physics, chemistry, biology, and environmental science. A detailed schedule of activities will be provided to the students upon arrival at the museum.
Code of Conduct
Students are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and responsible manner at all times during the field trip. They should follow all instructions given by teachers, chaperones, and museum staff. Any behavior that is disruptive or unsafe will not be tolerated.
Emergency Contact
Please ensure that we have your current emergency contact information on file. If your child has any medical conditions or requires medication, please inform me in advance and provide any necessary medications in a clearly labeled container with written instructions.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Ms. Johnson Science Teacher
