Follow the Beat is a fun rhythm game for two friends. You only need your hands and ears to play.

Step 1: Sit Together

Find an open spot on the classroom rug.

Sit cross-legged on the floor facing your partner.

Step 2: Pick Your Roles

Choose who will go first.

One friend is the Leader, and one friend is the Echo.

Step 3: Make the First Pattern

The Leader makes a short sound pattern.

You can clap your hands, tap your knees, or pat your shoulders.

Use only three or four beats at first.

Go slow so your partner can see every move.

Step 4: Copy the Beat

The Echo watches and listens with quiet care.

When the Leader stops, the Echo copies the exact same pattern.

Try to make the same sounds at the same speed.

If you make a mistake, just smile and try again together.

Step 5: Swap Roles

Now it is time to switch jobs!

The Echo becomes the new Leader, and the Leader becomes the Echo.

The new Leader creates a different pattern to share.

Keep swapping roles after each turn so both friends get to lead.

Step 6: End the Game

This game has no winners and no losers.

The goal is to listen well and make beats together.
