Giant Elephant Rocks
Have you ever seen a rock shaped like a giant elephant? There is a special park in Missouri called Elephant Rocks State Park.
In this park, huge red rocks stand in a long line. They look like a train of big circus elephants walking through the trees!
A very long time ago, hot melted rock was deep under the ground. Slowly, the hot rock cooled down and turned into hard granite.
Over many years, rain, ice, and wind rubbed against the granite. The weather smoothed off the sharp edges of the huge stones.
Now, the big rocks are round and smooth. Some of these rocks are as heavy as real elephants!
Visitors love to walk on the trail and see the giant stones. It is fun to see the amazing shapes made by nature.
