Have you ever seen giant hills made of sand? These big sand hills are called dunes.
The Oregon Dunes are right next to the ocean. The strong wind blows sand from the beach. It builds tall sand hills that can move!
Many animals make their homes in the sand. Little birds run along the wet shore. Bugs hide in the grass on top of the dunes.
Long ago, Native people lived near these dunes. They fished in the rivers and caught food. They took good care of the land.
Today, people visit the Oregon Dunes to play. You can walk on the soft sand. It is a fun and special place to explore!
