Making a paper chain is easy and fun. It is a great way to decorate for the holidays.

What You Need:

  • Red and green construction paper
  • A glue stick or tape
  • Safety scissors
  • A ruler
  • A pencil

Steps:

  1. Use a ruler and pencil to draw straight lines on your paper. Make each strip about one inch wide.

  2. Ask an adult to help you cut along the lines with scissors. Cut lots of red and green strips.

  3. Take one strip of red paper. Bend it into a loop so the ends touch.

  4. Put a small dot of glue on one end. Press the ends together to make your first ring.

  5. Take a strip of green paper. Slide it through the middle of the first ring.

  6. Glue the ends of the green strip together. Now you have two connected links!

  7. Keep adding more strips of paper, one by one. Alternate red and green to make a pattern.

  8. Hang your long paper chain on a wall or around a tree. Enjoy your festive holiday craft!
