Welcome to our classroom book-swap box! This painted wooden box sits on the shelf next to the reading rug. It is a place where you can find fun stories to enjoy. Follow these simple steps to use the box.

Step 1: Ask an Adult at Home Before you bring a book to school, always check with a parent or guardian. Make sure your family is ready to give that book away. Never bring a book that belongs to the town library or to someone else.

Step 2: Take Time to Choose Visit the box during morning arrival or quiet reading time. Look through the titles carefully. Slide a book out and read the front and back covers. Choose one book that looks exciting to you.

Step 3: No Book to Trade? No Problem! You do not need to bring a book from home to use the swap box. Every student can borrow a book to read in class. If you want to help, you can draw a paper bookmark and place it in the box for another classmate to find.
