Dear Sam,

I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to tell you a little about where I live in Arizona and what the environment is like here. It's very different from what you might be used to!

Arizona is mostly desert. This means we don't get a lot of rain, and it's usually very hot. But even though it's a desert, it's full of life. We have plants like cacti and yucca that are really good at saving water. The saguaro cactus is especially cool – they can grow to be huge and live for over 100 years!

We also have lots of animals that have adapted to living in the desert. There are lizards, snakes, and birds that all find ways to stay cool and find food. Some animals, like desert tortoises, spend most of their time underground to avoid the heat.

One of the things I love most about Arizona is the sky. Because it's so clear and there isn't much pollution, the stars at night are incredible. You can see so many more stars than you can in the city!

Of course, living in the desert means we have to be careful about water. We have to conserve water by taking shorter showers, fixing leaky faucets, and using plants that don't need a lot of water in our gardens. It's important to respect the environment and take care of it.

I wish you could visit sometime so you could see it for yourself. Maybe next summer?

Your uncle, Liam
