Lost and Found at the Airport

Lily held her mom's hand tight. The airport was so big! So many people rushed by.

“Stay close, Lily-bug,” Mom said. But Lily wanted to see the shiny, spinning globe. She let go for just a second. Then, Mom was gone.

Lily spun around. Where did she go? Lily felt tears in her eyes. She was lost.

She remembered what her dad always said, “If you’re lost, find someone who works here.”

Lily saw a lady in a blue uniform behind a desk. She walked up to the desk. “I’m lost,” Lily said, her voice shaky.

The lady smiled. “Don’t worry. We will find your mom.” She asked Lily her name and her mom’s name. Then, she spoke into a small box.

“Attention, please. We have a little girl named Lily looking for her mom, [Mom's Name]. Please come to the information desk.”

Lily waited. A few minutes felt like a long time. Then, she heard a familiar voice. “Lily!”

Mom ran to Lily and hugged her tight. “Oh, Lily! I was so worried!”

Lily hugged her back. “I found the lady in the blue uniform. She helped me.”

Mom thanked the lady. Then, she held Lily’s hand even tighter. “Let’s go get some ice cream,” Mom said. Lily smiled. Being lost wasn’t fun, but she was glad she knew what to do.
