Maya's Sharing Secret

Maya had a brand-new toy car. It was shiny blue with big, bouncy wheels. It could zoom across the floor faster than any other car! Maya loved playing with it more than anything. She took it everywhere, always keeping it close.

One sunny afternoon, Maya went to the park with her mom. The park was full of children laughing and playing. Maya found a quiet spot under a big oak tree and started to roll her blue car on the smooth path. Zoom! Vroom! It went. Suddenly, she saw a new boy sitting alone on a bench. He looked a little sad. He didn't have any toys to play with.

His name was Sami, and he had just moved to the neighborhood. Maya watched him for a while. She really wanted to keep her new car all to herself. It was her special toy. But then she remembered what her grandma always said: "A shared joy is a double joy." Maya took a deep breath. It was hard to share something so new and special.

Slowly, Maya walked over to Sami. "Hi," she said softly. "Do you want to play with my car?" Sami's eyes lit up. A big smile spread across his face. "Really?" he asked, surprised and happy. Maya nodded, holding out the shiny blue car. Sami gently took it and pushed it. The car zoomed across the path. He laughed, and Maya laughed too.

They took turns pushing the car, making it race down imaginary hills and around pretend corners. They even built a small ramp out of sticks and leaves. The afternoon flew by. By the time Maya's mom called her to go home, Maya and Sami were fast friends. Maya didn't just feel happy about making a new friend; she felt a warm, bubbly feeling inside. Sharing her special toy had made the park even more fun, and she knew she had made Sami's day much brighter. It really was a double joy!
