Muffin and the Big Red Ball

Dear Diary,
Today is a very sunny day. I am a happy kitten named Muffin.
I have soft white fur. I have four little pink paws.
I sat on the green grass. The sun felt warm on my back.
I looked over the tall fence. I saw something bright and red.
It was a big, round ball! It belongs to the boy next door.
The ball was shiny in the light. I wanted to touch it with my paw.
I tried to jump very high. But the fence is too big for me.
I am a very small kitten. I wiggled my tail back and forth.
I made a tiny meow. I wanted that red ball to play.
Then, the wind began to blow. The red ball started to move!
It rolled fast across the yard. It rolled right to the wood fence.
I could see it through a small hole. The hole was just right for my paw.
I put my soft paw through the hole. I tapped the red ball one time.
Boing! The ball bounced away. It was so much fun to see.
I waited for the ball to come back. I sat very still in the green grass.
The boy came out to play. He wore a blue hat today.
He picked up his big red ball. He saw my pink nose in the hole.
He laughed a nice, loud laugh. "Hello, little kitty," he said.
He rolled the ball back to me. It hit the fence with a soft thud.
I jumped up and down. I chased my own tail in a circle.
My heart felt very happy. The boy is my new friend.
I hope the ball comes back tomorrow. It is the best toy in the world.
I am a lucky kitten. I have a fun neighbor.
Now I am tired and sleepy. My eyes are starting to close.
I will take a long nap in the sun. I will dream of red balls.
Goodnight, Diary! Love, Muffin.
