August 9

Dear Diary,

Today was the best day ever! I went to a big party by the blue water.

It was the National Day Parade. Everyone wore red and white shirts.

We sat on big seats next to the bay. I had a small flag in my hand.

I waved my flag up and down. Suddenly, I heard a very loud zoom!

I looked up at the bright blue sky. Big jet planes flew fast over our heads.

They left red and white smoke in the air. My heart was beating so fast with joy!

Then, beautiful dancers came onto the stage. They wore bright costumes that shined in the sun.

They danced and sang happy songs. We all clapped our hands to the beat.

I felt so happy to be here in Singapore. I love this special day.

Goodnight, diary!
