My Diary in Savannah
May 10
Today we walked in Savannah. It is a very old city.
A man named James Oglethorpe made this city. He made many green parks.
People call them squares. We walked to three squares today.
Big oak trees grow there. Gray moss hangs from the branches.
It looks like long, soft hair. The moss sways in the warm wind.
I ran on the brick paths. It was so much fun.
May 11
We went back to the squares. I saw a gray squirrel.
It ran up a big tree. Then we sat on a wood bench.
The trees keep us very cool. I like how James made this city.
Every square feels like a secret garden. I can hear the birds sing.
I do not want to leave. Savannah is a magical place.
