October 30
Dear Diary, Today we got ready for Diwali. Jaipur looks so beautiful.
All the big walls are painted pink. We hung bright lights on our porch.
My sister and I made a big rangoli. We used yellow and red powder.
It looks like a big, happy flower. I cannot wait for tomorrow!
October 31
Dear Diary, It is finally Diwali! The whole city is glowing.
We put clay lamps by the door. We call these little lamps diyas.
They shine like tiny, warm stars. Everyone is wearing new clothes.
My dress is bright pink and gold. It matches the beautiful pink walls of our city.
November 1
Dear Diary, Tonight was the best night ever. We ate sweet laddoos and crunchy snacks.
Then we went outside to see the sky. Sparklers made bright silver lines in the dark.
The sky was full of colorful lights. My heart felt so happy and warm.
