Dear Diary,

Today was a big day at school. I brought my paper boat for sharing time.

My boat is bright blue. My brother helped me fold the paper last night.

It took five folds to make the pointed front. It looks like a real ship.

When Mrs. Green called my name, my tummy felt funny. My feet felt heavy on the rug.

Everyone turned to look right at me. I felt very shy.

I held the little blue boat with two hands. My voice felt stuck inside my throat.

Then, Sam raised his hand. "Can it really float in water?" he asked.

I looked at Sam. He had a friendly smile on his face.

I knew the answer to that question. I took a deep breath.

"Yes," I said softly. "We tested it in the kitchen sink!"

Sam grinned. "That is so neat," he whispered.

Mrs. Green clapped, and the class clapped too. My shy feeling flew right out the window.

I am glad I shared my boat today. It feels good to be brave.
