My Moon Walk with Comet

Dear Diary,

You won't believe what happened today! I took Comet, my golden retriever, for a walk... on the moon!

It all started when my dad finished building his new invention. He’s a super smart scientist. It was a special rocket that could travel to the moon in, like, five minutes. Dad said it was for important science stuff, but I think he just wanted to see if he could do it. He even made a spacesuit for Comet!

When he asked me if I wanted to go, I couldn't say no! Strapping into the rocket was so exciting. Comet was wagging his tail the whole time, even when the rocket started shaking. Zoom! We were off!

Soon, we landed on the moon. It was gray and dusty everywhere. Dad opened the rocket door, and Comet and I hopped out. I bounced a little because the gravity was super light. Comet bounced even higher! He looked like he was flying! Dad reminded me to stay close and keep Comet on his leash.

Walking on the moon was weird. My boots sank into the dust with every step. I could see Earth hanging in the sky, a big blue marble. Comet sniffed at the rocks and even tried to chase a moon rock that was rolling down a small hill. He rolled right over! Good thing he had his space suit on.

We explored a big crater, and I even collected a few moon rocks to bring home. Comet really liked sniffing around the rocks. After an hour, Dad said it was time to go back. Comet was a little tired from all the bouncing, so he curled up in his spacesuit when we got back to the rocket.

The trip back to Earth was just as fast. When we landed, Mom couldn't believe we had actually been to the moon! She gave Comet and me big hugs. Going to the moon with my dog was the coolest adventure ever! I will never forget the day I walked my dog on the moon.

Your Friend, Alex
