Attention Room 12 Second Graders!

We have an important update about our reading-buddy time with Ms. Green’s kindergarten class. Please read this notice carefully so you know where to go and what to bring.

Why Is the Schedule Changing?
The school library is getting new carpets this week! Because the workers need space to roll out the big rugs, we cannot visit the library on our usual day.

Old Schedule (No Longer Happening):

  • Day: Tuesday mornings
  • Time: 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM
  • Location: School Library

New Schedule (Starting This Week):

  • Day: Thursday afternoons
  • Time: 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM
  • Location: Room 12 (Our Classroom)

Because the kindergarten buddies are visiting our room instead of the library, we need to be great hosts. We will set up cozy reading spots on our blue classroom rug and at our small group tables.

What You Need to Do Before Thursday:

  1. Look through your book bin today.
  2. Pick two picture books that you feel ready to read out loud.
  3. Place a yellow sticky note on the cover of each chosen book.
  4. Leave your two books on your desk before we go home on Wednesday.

Ms. Green says her kindergarten students are very excited to see our classroom. Thank you for being helpful leaders and kind reading buddies!

— Mr. Rivera
