Narrator: They want to welcome their families. They want to show their culture.
Leo: Hello, my friends! Today is our big school show.
Siti: Yes, it is! We will welcome everyone.
Siti: I will say Selamat datang. That means "welcome" in Malay.
Mei: I will say Ni hao. That means "hello" in Mandarin.
Ravi: I will say Vanakkam. That means "hello" in Tamil.
Leo: I will say hello in English. We speak different languages.
Siti: We have different heritages. But we live together now.
Mei: We share our food. We share our songs.
Ravi: We love our home. Our home is Singapore.
Leo: Let us practice our big greeting. Are you ready?
Siti: Selamat datang!
Mei: Ni hao!
Ravi: Vanakkam!
Leo: Welcome to our festival!
Narrator: The friends clap their hands. They are ready for the show.
