The summer air crackled with anticipation as Maya and her older brother, Ben, walked towards the towering sandstone cliffs of Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Maya, usually glued to her phone, felt a different kind of buzz tonight. Ben, a budding guitarist, had practically dragged her here, promising an unforgettable experience. He worshipped the band playing tonight, some indie rock group Maya had vaguely heard on the radio.
"Just wait, Maya," Ben had said, his eyes shining. "This placeā¦ itās magic." Now, standing in the throng of people, she could feel the magic heād described. The colossal rocks seemed to amplify the energy of the crowd, a low thrumming that vibrated in her chest.
