Welcome to third grade, Room 204 families and students! Starting next Tuesday, our classroom will begin an optional morning activity called Book Buddies. This program offers interested students a regular chance to explore stories and informational books alongside a classmate. Participating in Book Buddies is entirely voluntary. Students who prefer to read independently during this morning window are welcome to continue their usual quiet reading routine at their own desks.

Book Buddies will take place two mornings each week, on Tuesday and Thursday. Sessions will run from 8:15 a.m. to 8:40 a.m. during our homeroom arrival period. When the morning bell rings at 8:10 a.m., students who have signed up will unpack their backpacks, check in with Mr. Rivera, and move to their designated reading spots. Pairs may choose to sit on carpet squares in the classroom library corner or work at the round table near the window. Because schoolwide morning announcements begin promptly at 8:45 a.m., each session ends with five minutes to pack up and return books to their proper bins.
