Room 3B Launches Classroom Mailbox to Deliver Daily Kindness

OAK CREEK ELEMENTARY — On Monday morning, the students in Room 3B officially launched their new classroom post office. The project, called the Kindness Mailbox, gives third graders a special way to send encouraging letters, thank-you notes, and friendly drawings to their peers throughout the school day.
The project began two weeks ago when third-grade teacher Mrs. Alvarez noticed that several students wanted to share positive messages without disrupting reading lessons. The class voted to transform a large cardboard shoebox into a community drop box. Over the weekend, student volunteers painted the box bright blue and decorated the outside with yellow paper stars. They cut a narrow slot in the lid so envelopes could slip inside safely.
Under the new classroom rules, students may write letters only during free choice time or right after finishing their morning math warm-ups. Writers must sign their real names, and every letter must include a kind compliment, a helpful tip, or an appreciative remark about a classmate's effort. Senders address their folded notes by writing the recipient's first name and seat number on the front before slipping them into the blue slot.
