Salvador Dalí was born on May 11, 1904, in Figueres, Spain. From the time he was a young boy, Salvador saw the world differently than everyone else. He was a very talented artist, even as a child, and his parents encouraged his creativity by building him a small art studio. While most young artists practiced drawing things exactly as they looked in real life, Salvador was more interested in the things he saw in his imagination and his dreams. He loved the bright colors of the Spanish coast and the strange shapes of the rocks near his home, which would later appear in many of his most famous paintings.
