Sam and Pip Build a Fort

Sam had a big red box. Pip ran up to the box.
Pip was a small dog. He liked to wag his tail.
Sam said, "Look at this box, Pip! We can make a fun fort."
Sam cut a hole in the front. Pip put his wet nose inside.
"Come in, Pip," said Sam with a grin. Pip hopped in and sat on a soft mat.
The two pals sat in the red box. Sam had a red ball.
He rolled the ball to Pip. Pip tapped the ball with his paw.
They had a lot of fun together. Then, the hot sun went down.
It was dark in the yard. A cool wind blew on the box.
Sam had a warm blanket. He put the blanket on Pip.
Pip gave Sam a soft lick on the hand. They sat side by side and felt safe.
"You are my best pal, Pip," said Sam. Pip closed his eyes and went to sleep.
