Sam sat on the soft grass. He looked at the big moon.
The stars were very bright tonight. He liked to look at them.
Suddenly, Sam saw a flash of light. It was a neon green color.
It zipped across the dark sky. Then it came down low.
The light landed near the old oak tree. It did not make a sound.
Sam felt a little bit scared. But he was also very curious.
He walked slowly to the big tree. The grass felt wet on his feet.
He saw a round ship on the ground. It was shiny like a new coin.
Small blue lights blinked on the ship. A door began to slide open.
Sam held his breath as he watched. Who was inside the silver ball?
A tiny creature stepped out of the ship. He was bright green and soft.
The alien had three large yellow eyes. He had two very long, wiggly ears.
The little alien looked at Sam. He did not look mean at all.
He made a soft noise like a bird. "Beep, beep, bop!" he said.
Sam smiled and waved his hand. "Hello, my name is Sam," he said.
The alien waved a small hand back. He had four fingers on each hand.
Sam had a red apple in his pocket. He took it out to show his friend.
"Would you like a snack?" Sam asked. He held the apple out.
The alien walked closer to Sam. He sniffed the round red fruit.
He took a small bite of the apple. His three eyes grew very big.
The alien did a silly little hop. He liked the taste of the apple.
He ate the whole thing very fast. Then he gave Sam a tiny hug.
The alien pointed at the stars. He had to go back to his home.
He stepped back inside his silver ship. The blue lights started to spin.
The ship lifted off the green grass. It flew up high into the clouds.
Sam watched until the light was gone. He had a secret friend now.
