Spokane: The Lilac City
Spokane is nicknamed the "Lilac City" because of its beautiful lilac bushes that bloom every spring. It's located in eastern Washington, surrounded by nature.
- Nature and Outdoors: Spokane has Riverfront Park, right in the middle of downtown. It was created for the 1974 World's Fair. You can ride a carousel, see the Spokane Falls, and even ride a gondola over the river! Also, you can find many lakes to swim or boat and mountains to hike.
- History and Culture: Spokane has many historical buildings and museums. The Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture is a great place to learn about the region's history and art. There are also local art galleries and theaters where you can watch plays and concerts.
- Cost of Living: Spokane is generally more affordable than Tacoma. Housing and everyday expenses are usually lower, which can be a big plus.
Tacoma: The City of Destiny
Tacoma sits on Puget Sound, in western Washington. It's known for its beautiful waterfront and its views of Mount Rainier.
