Springtime Animal Adventures

When winter goes away, and it gets warmer, animals start to do different things! The sun shines more, and animals get busy. Let's see what they do!

Flying Away and Back Again

Some animals, like birds, fly far away in the winter because it's cold and there's not much food. When spring comes, they fly back! This is called migration. They fly back to find a good place to build their nests and have their babies. It's a long and hard trip, but they do it every year!

Finding a Friend

Spring is also when animals find friends to have babies with. Boy animals try to show off to the girl animals. Birds might sing pretty songs or show their colorful feathers. Deer might play-fight to see who is strongest.

Building Homes

After they find a friend, animals build homes for their babies. Birds make nests out of twigs and leaves. Squirrels make cozy homes in trees. These homes keep their babies safe and warm.

Eating and Playing

When spring comes, plants start to grow! Animals like deer and rabbits eat the new plants. Bugs come out too, and birds eat the bugs. Because it's warmer and the days are longer, animals play more and look for food.
